Weekly Notes 20-08-2018

The Junior Footballers took on Diarmuid O Mathunas in their final league game in Division 1last Tuesday evening in Leap. This turned out to be a very one sided affair as the Kilmacs cruised to a 4-14 to 0-4 victory. This result guarantees that the team will finish top of Division 1 with a total of 13 points from 8 games, which qualifies the team for their 3rd league final in four years.

The club would like to congratulate Eabha O Donovan, daughter of Junior football selector James who was part of the Skibbereen Community School U12 team that won the All Ireland at the Community Games held in Limerick last Sunday. Congrats to Eabha and all her team mates on this fantastic success.

The club are also hosting two games in the coming week; on Saturday 25th Junior B Hurling Championship Quarter Final Randal Og v Gabriels Rangers at 7pm. On Monday 27th Minor B1 Football Championship Carbery Rangers 2 v Tadgh McCarthaigh.

Ian Jennings was part of the St Patrick’s Hurling team that beat Cill Mochomóg in the West Cork Minor Hurling final in Ballinacarriga on Tuesday, 14th August. Owen Tobin was on the St Patrick’s team that lost the U-16 Hurling final to Laochra Óg, in Kilmichael on Sunday 12th August.

Pat Paison of Drombeg and USA featured in an article in the County section of the Irish Examiner on Tuesday 14th August. The article featured Pat’s interest and involvement in hurling as an American, and the part he played in the recent path taken by O Donovan Rossa in reaching the County Junior B Hurling final. Pat is also playing an important role in the development of future Kilmacabea players with the work he is doing with the U8/U6.
