Club Notes 14/02/2019

A number of our players represented their county in games over the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Owen Tobin and Liam McCarthy were part of the U14 and U15 Development Squads respectively who played on the 4G pitch.

Owen captained the Cork West team that defeated Cork Mid in the shield final. Owen played a starring role at full back and along with Liam are two extremely talented young players who both have bright futures ahead of them.

Also on Sunday, Damien Gore once again came off the bench as the Cork Senior Footballers were defeated by Clare in Ennis, in the third round of the Allianz National Football League Division 2. This result leaves the side bottom of the division with one point from 3 games.

On a busy Sunday for the club, our Junior Footballers made the journey to Ahiohill for their opening league game of the season. On a decent pitch and despite missing a number of key players, the Kilmacs trailed 0-4 to 0-5 at half time; but a scoring blitz which saw the team score 2-8 without reply saw the run out comfortable winners by 2-12 to 1-5.

Fixtures for the club week: Junior Football League Division 1 vs Kilmeen on Sunday 17th at 3pm in Leap.

Please check locally before travelling as games are subject to change.
