Club Notes 18-04-2019

A quiet week on the playing front with only the U12’s and Minor footballers in action.

The u12’s welcomed Muintir Bhaire to Leap on Monday evening the 8th. A very good performance from all the young Kilmacs, showing the skill and footballing ability that has to be nurtured for the future. A very good nights football and the young Kilmacs were unlucky to come out the wrong side of the result.

The minor footballers travelled to Dunmanway on Tuesday 9th for a league game. Despite putting in a good display, it was the Dunmanway men that come out winners on the night.

The club would like to congratulate Keith Whelton and the rest of the his Skibbereen U181/2 rugby teammates, who drew with Navan in the All Ireland cup final played in Mullingar last Saturday. The rules of the competition meant that the two teams will share the cup, so all in Kilmacabea GAA would like to congratulate the team on its great achievement.

Easter Sunday see’s the start of our Junior A Footballers 2019 championship campaign, when they take on O Donovan Rossa in Castlehaven at 6:30pm. Noel McCarthy’s charges will be trying to relive the successes of past seasons, with last years run to the County Junior final the main highlight. So we encourage our loyal supporters to come out in large numbers to cheer the lads on.

Please note the throw in time is now at 6:30pm and not 3:30pm as previously advertised. This is as not to clash with a Senior Hurling Championship game in Clonakilty that afternoon.

Fixtures for the club week:  Bandon Co-op Junior A Football Championship 1st Round v O Donovan Rossa on Sunday 21st at 6:30pm in Castlehaven; U14 Football League v Clann Na Gael on Thursday 18th at 7pm in Drimoleague.

As fixtures are subject to change please check on club social media or locally for any changes.
