Junior A’s win Double Double!!
While the pain of the County Final defeat might still be very raw, the Junior A Footballers finished 2018 with a comprehensive 2-18 to 0-6 win over St Colums in the Carbery Junior A Division 1 League Final played in Dunmanway on Sunday 25th November last.
On a cold dry morning, on a very damp surface the KIlmacs started as they meant to go on, by registering 1-5 without reply by the 15th minute. A number of goal scoring chances went a begging before a full pitch move saw, Donnacha McCarthy crash the ball to the net to leave the half time score Kilmacabea 2-7 St Colums 0-3.
The second half continued in a similar fashion, with the Kilmacs asserting their dominance and despite some good scores from the Kealkil men, it was the Kilmacabea lads who ran out 2-18 to 0-7 winners.
It was joyous scenes as captain Niall Hayes accepted the League trophy from new Carbery board Chairman Tommy Lyons.
This completed the League and Championship double for the second season in succession, and the immediate future looks very bright for our Junior footballers.
