Club Notes 07-01-2019
The Annual Quiz night took place on Friday night the 28th December last, at The Leap Inn. Yet again it was very well supported with 31 teams taking part on the night. After five rounds and lots of head scratching later, it was the team made up of Donal and Angela O Donovan and Muireann O Keeffe who ran out winners with 84 out of 100. The top 5 were as follows:
- Donal and Angela O Donovan, Muireann O Keeffe
- Peadar O Leary, Anton Walsh, Barry Glavin and Derry Crowley
- Ruairi, Dan and Cian Hourihane, Noel Crowley
- John, Denis, Brian and Kevin O Donovan
- Karl, Marian, Colin and Carol McCarthy
Well done to the Junior A Football panel that once again put on a tremendous night’s entertainment.
Sunday 6th January will go down as a historic day for the club, as our very own Damien Gore became the first Kilmacabea player to play senior intercounty football with Cork. Damien was named in the starting fifteen, as the Senior footballers started their year with a good victory over Limerick in the McGrath Cup semi- final. Anyone who made the journey to Rathkeale, would have seen Damien kick Cork’s opening score of the game and he added a second point later in the game to round off an impressive debut.
Damien and his teammates now travel to Miltown Malbay to take on Clare next Saturday afternoon at 2pm, as they try to retain their McGrath Cup title.
