Club Notes 14-01-2019
Damien Gore was part of the Cork Senior Football team that were beaten by Clare in the McGrath Cup final last Saturday afternoon. Damien came off the bench and managed to kick two points, but it wasn’t enough as Cork went down by 0-9 to 1-9. Despite the defeat Damien put in two very good displays and it will only be a matter of time before we find out if he has made the panel for the National Football League. Also over the weekend, it emerged that Damien is in fact the second Kilmacabea player to wear the Cork colours at senior level. John Daly , who was honoured recently as part of the Carbery Senior Football winning team of 1968, also wore the county colours in the late 1960’s playing a number of games in the National Football League.
There will be a Club Registration and Membership night (both adult and underage) on Friday night the 18th January between 7:30pm and 8:30pm in the clubhouse. All players and members are urged to attend, especially as players won’t be covered by insurance without paying their membership.
Tickets for the club’s victory Dinner Dance on the 2nd February at 8pm in the Celtic Ross Hotel are still available. Tickets are priced at €30 and can be bought by contacting either Jennifer Sweetnam or Kay Ronan.
