Club Notes 07-02-2019
The Kilmacabea GAA Annual Dinner Dance took place last Saturday night in The Celtic Ross Hotel Rosscarbery. A large crowd had gathered to celebrate the success of our Junior A Footballers of 2018, who retained the Carbery Junior Football League and Championship titles and also reached the club’s first County final. The panel was honoured on the night and guest of honour Paudie Palmer presented the medals to the entire panel on the night. Also honoured on the night were our Young Player of the year 2018, U14 forward Liam McCarthy; Player of the year 2018, Junior star Daniel O Donovan; and Club person of the year 2018, Noel McCarthy Junior A Football Manager.
The club is also grateful to treasurer Jennifer Sweetnam and Kay Ronan and everyone who helped to organise and make the night a great success.
The whole club would like to thank Neil Grant and all the staff in The Celtic Ross for hosting us again on the night.
On Sunday, Damien Gore was an unused substitute for the Cork Senior Footballers as they were narrowly defeated by Kildare in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. They travel to Ennis next Sunday looking to open their account against fellow Division 2 strugglers Clare.
Also, on Sunday, Sean Tobin, on behalf of the underage club, was presented with the Rebel Og Coaching Benchmarking Bronze Award for 2018 in Pairc Ui Rinn. This award is a testament to all the hard-work being done by our club officers and all the coaches and volunteers that look after our underage players.
Fixtures for the club week: Junior Football League Division 1 vs St Oliver Plunketts on Sunday 10th at 3pm in Ahiohill. Junior Football League Division 3 vs Clonakilty on Sunday 10th at 3pm in Leap.
