Club Notes 23-05-2019
The Junior C Footballers made the long trip to Barryroe last Friday night in the league. This team have been going very well this season so far and continued their unbeaten campaign to date by defeating the home side by 0-15 to 1-8. This leaves the team top of Division 3 with 7 wins out of 7 with one league game to play away to Kilbrittain this Saturday night.
The club would like to thank Minor manager Barry Glavin, who is a director with Hanley Calibration Services Ltd, who presented the club with a new set of jerseys last Tuesday evening in John William, Goulding Park. Club chairman Dan Hourihane accepted the jerseys on behalf of the club with members of the club executive, Junior Football panel and club supporters also in attendance.
Well done to Junior players; Donie O Donovan, Dan Lynch, Timmy Nyhan, Niall McCarthy, Mark Jennings and Peadar O Leary who all completed the Rosscarbery Surf, Turf and Tar 10k race on Saturday morning in tough conditions.
Carbery GPO Paudie Crowley will take a training session with the U10/U12 group on Wednesday 22nd at 7:15pm for one hour in the GAA pitch. Paudie will then do a Q and A for fifteen minutes with the selectors and coaches. All club managers, selectors and coaches from U6 level up to Junior level are invited to attend.
Young coaches who will be coaching at the GAA Cul Camp from the 5th to the 9th of August are required to attend a coaching course. These courses are running on two different dates; 10th June at O Donovan Rossa GAA Club at 7pm. Cost will be €10 and on 24th June at Clonakilty GAA Club, Ahamilla at 7pm. Cost will also be €10. Also any Adult that needs to do a Foundation level course can attend one of these nights with the second and final night of the course taking place in Clonakilty GAA Club on 26th June at 7pm. The cost for the two nights will be €20 in total.
