Club Notes 17-09-2020
This weekend saw the Junior A Footballers travel to Dunmanway to take on Clonakilty in the Quarter Final of the championship. Despite another slow start, the team once again showed that there is a renewed determination this year and ran out 4-17 to 3-10 winners. Credit to Clonakilty who gave us a great sporting game of football and have plenty of young talent coming though themselves.
This great win see’s the team qualify for the Semi Final and will take on the winners of Kilmeen and Tadgh MacCarthaigh, who are due to play this coming Saturday.
Once again the club would like to thank Vinnie Hayes of Duhallow Live Streaming for a wonderful live stream of the game on Youtube and also to our commentary team of John Keohane and Pat Harte, Clonakilty. Both John and Pat provided a very entertaining commentary that was enjoyed by young and old.
The U12 footballers were in action aswell on Monday evening, in their League Cup Semi Final. This game was played in a well appointed Ahiohill venue against Kilmeen. A fantastic hours football ensued, with the young Kilmacs dominating the game from first whistle to last. The final score of 5-16 to 1-2 does little justice to how well the Kilmacs played on the night. Well done to the management team and all the players involved in qualifying for the League final.
The u12 football panel who defeated Kilmeen was as follows: Dylan Cooke, Jerome McCarthy, Sophie O Donovan, Callum Murphy, Milo Kinsella, Nell Kinsella, Aodan Murphy, Jack O Donovan, Adam McCarthy, Oran O Donovan, Oisin O Donovan, Joe McCarthy, Johnny O Driscoll, Paddy Paison, Stephen Jennings, Stephen McCarthy, Ryan O Donovan and Conall McCarthy.
The u16 game against St James, due to also be played Monday night was cancelled.
