Weekly Club Notes

Once again the club would like to thank all those volunteers that helped out at our Annual Flag Day in Skibbereen last Friday. The club would also like to thank all those that gave generously as all funds raised will benefit the running of the club’s underage section for the year ahead.

Liam McCarthy and Owen Tobin were part of the Cork West U14 Squad that travelled to the Jim Power Invitational U14 tournament last Saturday. The squad beat Wexford and Limerick to reach the final of the tournament, but unfortunately had to give way to a very good Wexford team in the final. Liam and Owen can be very proud at how they represented their families, club and county over the weekend.

Don’t forget that this weekend, The August Bank Holiday weekend, The Annual Kilmacabea GAA Community Festival takes place in the parish. Lots of events for young and old take place and its set to be another fantastic weekend in Leap. A full programme of events is available locally, on the clubs website and facebook pages and in this week’s Southern Star.

Also on Sunday, our Junior A Footballers get back into championship action, when we take on neighbours and great rivals Castlehaven in Rosscarbery on Sunday 5th August at 2:30pm. There is some doubt as to whether this game will go ahead at the time of writing, so please check locally or keep an eye on club social media accounts for up to date news.

Fixtures for the coming week: Junior A Football Championship Quarter Final v Castlehaven on Sunday 5th August at 2:30pm in Rosscarbery.
