Club Notes 28/02/2019

The successful league winning U14 team of 2018 were honoured on Saturday afternoon last. A decent crowd was present as Junior A winning captain Niall Hayes presented the squad with their medals in the GAA Pavilion. The team along with their coaches then headed to Pairc Ui Rinn to see our very own Damien Gore and the rest of the Cork Senior footballers, as they were defeated by Meath.

Sunday proved to be a very busy day on the playing field, as both Junior teams were in league action in John William Goulding Park. First up at 12 noon were the Junior A Footballers who were looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season with another win over St Colums. On a heavy sod, the first half was notable for its low scoring but a change of approach in the 2nd half, as well as St Colums being reduced to 14 men, meant the Kilmacs ran out easy winners by 3-12 to 0-4.

After a good break, the Junior C footballers made their debut in Division 3 of the league by comfortably accounting for Bantry Blues on a score line of 3-8 to 0-5.

The U21 Footballers are out in championship action next weekend, as they take on Bantry Blues in the 1st round. This game is fixed for Ballydehob on Sunday 3rd at 3pm and we encourage all our supporters to get out and cheer the lads to victory.
