Club Notes 09-01-2020
The 25th Anniversary Celebration of our Junior B Football Championship County Final win will take place this Saturday evening, the 11th January, at The Leap Inn at 8pm. Also on the night the Junior C Football Championship winners of 2019 will receive their medals and the Annual Awards night will also happen on the night. Music will be provided by Noel O Donovan.
Even though 2020 is still in its infancy, two of our young footballers have already represented Cork at Senior and U20 level. Damien Gore played a starring role for the Cork Senior Footballers as they defeated Kerry in the McGrath Cup in Tralee on Sunday 29th December, as he plundered 3-5 and was a constant thorn in the Kingdom’s side. Damien was also on the bench last Thursday 2nd as Cork qualified for the final as they defeated Tipperary in Mallow. Ian Jennings was also involved with the Cork U20’s as they also defeated Kerry in the opening game of the John Kerins Tournament in Tralee last Saturday afternoon.
A Defibrillator refresher course will take place in the clubhouse on Saturday 18th January from 10am to 2pm. It is vital that all club coaches and trainers complete this course as well as all other club members who have already completed the standard training. Anyone who wants to sign up for this course is asked to contact Jennifer Sweetnam ASAP, along with anyone interested in completing the beginner’s course.
