Club Notes 23-7-2020
As the GAA season kicks back into action after the enforced break, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we are delighted to be able to welcome all our players back to training and the playing of games. All players and their parents/guardians have been informed of the new protocols in play to ensure everyone’s safety as we get back to action. Many thanks to all those club members that have taken on extra duties to help with the implementation of the return to play guidelines as set out by Croke Park and the HSE.
Back to the action on the pitch and having played a number of challenge games recently, the Junior A Footballers travelled to Rossmore on Sunday morning last to take on the hosts, Kilmeen in the Junior Football league Division 1. A very entertaining game ensued and on a glorious summers day it was the Kilmac’s who emerged with the league points on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-9. This sets the team up nicely for their opening championship encounter which is fixed for Ahiohill next Sunday 26th at 7pm, with Bandon as our opponents. We wish Kevin and the lads all the very best of luck.
The club would like to pass on its deepest condolences to the Calnan family, Glandore on the recent tragic passing of their daughter Sinead. The whole club was deeply saddened at the untimely loss of Sinead and this was seen at her funeral mass where a large crowd gathered to pay their respects. We keep all her friends and family, especially her parents Jim and Sheila and brothers Brian and James, in our thoughts and prayers at this terrible time. Ar dheis de go raibh anam sin.
