Kilmacabea GAA Notes 17-06-2021
The Junior B Footballers got their season underway on Bank Holiday Monday last when the team fought hard but had to give way to a better- balanced Randal Og team by 1-10 to 1-18. The Junior A Footballers then took on Muintir Bhaire in their opening game of the new League Cup format last Sunday afternoon, a good performance yielded a well deserved win by 1-15 to 1-10.
Next Saturday evening see’s the long awaited 2020 County Junior A Football Championship Quarter Final, which was postponed last October. Our opponents will be newly crowned Avondhu champions Charleville and this game takes place in Coachford with a 5pm throw in. Again due to the COVID restrictions the club will only be allocated a limited number of spectator tickets for this game and these details will be available on our social media accounts during the week. Thanks to Vinnie Hayes of Duhallow Live Streaming who has kindly offered to stream the game live. Again details of this stream will be available later in the week. All in the club wish Kevin, Joe and all the lads the best of luck.
Well done to Damien Gore and his Cork Senior Football teammates, who defeated Westmeath in last weekend’s NFL Division 2 relegation playoff and retained their Division 2 status for 2022.
Well done to our U12 footballers who travelled to sun splashed Ballinascarthy on Monday evening last and playing some wonderful football, managing to come away with a great win on their first outing of 2021.
