Kilmacabea GAA Notes 24-06-2021

Last week was a busy week on the playing with four teams in action. The U12’s defeated Ballinascarthy in their first outing of the league and played some wonderful football for the full hour. Their next game is away to Clonakilty’s second team and this game takes place in Ahamilla on Friday evening at 7pm.

The next side in action were the U18’s who welcomed Dunmanus to Leap on Wednesday night last. Again this team played some cracking football and came out of the game with a great win by 4-5 to 1-9.

Next up were the U13’s who welcomed near neighbours Carbery Rangers to Leap on Thursday evening and for the third time in a few days it was the Kilmacs that came away with the win, by 3-18 to 3-11.

Finally it was off to Coachford on Saturday evening for the eagerly anticipated 2020 County Junior A Football Championship Quarter Final v Charleville. With the campaign last year cut short due to the pandemic, it was great to see two sides go at it hammer and tongs for the full hour. A full report is located elsewhere in this section, but it was the Kilmacs who eventually had the upper hand and ran out winners by 0-15 to 2-7. That victory on Saturday will now see the team face Muskerry champions Iveleary in a mouth watering semi final clash. Due to County commitments this game will not be played until the Cork Senior Footballers are out of the championship. As ever we will keep you informed once a time, date and venue are fixed for this game.

Fixtures for the coming week are as follows:

Carbery Junior Football League Cup 2A v Bantry Blues on Tuesday 23rd at 8pm in Leap

Carbery Junior  Football League Cup 1A v Tadgh MacCarthaigh on Friday 25th at 8pm in Aughaville

U17 Championship Round Robin  v Uibh Laoire on Wednesday 23rd at 7:30pm in Leap

U12 Football League v Clonakilty 2 on Friday 25th at 7pm in Clonakilty
