Club Notes 08-07-2021

The U13’s travelled to Church Cross last Thursday evening to take on Ilen Rovers. Having put in a great performance in their opening game against Carbery Rangers they felt confident heading west. A better balanced opposition got the upper hand on the night but the whole team can be proud of the way they played.

The U21’s took on Kilmeen in the opening round of the U21 C Football Championship last Monday evening in Rosscarbery. Despite the game being postponed the previous Thursday due to a bereavement in the Kilmeen club, it didn’t seem to hinder the Kilmacs as they took the game to their opponents from the off. Starting slowly, they were rocked with an early Kilmeen major but this seemed to spur the team on and taking complete control scored 1-8 to 0-1 in the final quarter of the first half to lead by 7 points at halftime, Kilmacabea 1-10 Kilmeen 1-3. The pattern of the game continued during the second half with the Kilmacs adding a further 2-4 to their tally before the final whistle. Full time score Kilmacabea 3-14 Kilmeen 2-7. This was an excellent performance from a relatively young team and they now await their opponents in the next round. Well done to all the players and management on the night.
