Club Notes: 08-12-2022

Kilmacabea AGM for 2022 took place last Saturday evening in the GAA Pavilion. Chairperson Dan Hourihane welcomed everyone to the meeting and mentioned that it was great to see so many new faces and hoped that they would continue attending regularly. Secretary Narelle Jennings gave her usual detail review of the year’s activities and gave special mention to the U12 West Cork Winning girls team and to the U13 boy who won the league title. Jennnifer Sweetnam outlined the clubs financial position and thanked all those that sold club draw tickets throughout the year, those involved in the joint Lotto committee and all our club sponsors for their generosity as always. Michael Tobin and Donie O Donovan gave their reports on underage and Ladies club activities respectively. Donie also thanked all those that helped to get the Ladies club up and running and is hoping for an equally successful 2023. The club will again enter teams at Junior A and Junior C level with future discussion to be held over u21 grading. A discussion also took place about club membership and it was agreed to set this at €40 for child, €80 for adults and €150 for families.

The Annual Club Awards can now be voted for. Anyone who wishes to register their vote is asked to contact Donal O Donovan by Friday 16th December. The awards will be for Club Person Player of the Year, Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year (u16 boys and girls).

The Annual Junior Panel Table Quiz will take place on Wednesday 28th December at 8pm in The Leap Inn.

Kilmacabea GAA Club in association with Leap and Glandore Community Councils are proud to present LeapSync 2023, which will take place on Saturday 21st January 2023 in the West Cork Hotel, Skibbereen. Tickets are priced at €25 each and are on sale now. A great night is anticipated, so get your tickets now!! Also Nell Kinsella has been selected for the Mini Sevens Cork Panel and will be representing the club county and participate in a game at half time in Páirc Ui Chaoimh on the day of the Munster Finals and in Croke Park before the Senior Championship Finals.

The club/community council lotto is up and running again since the start of the year, so don’t forget to play as the draw takes place every Monday night. Tickets can be bought at the usual local outlets at a price of €2 each or 3 for €5. Also the Lotto can be played online at www.leaplotto.ie and also on the Club force app by selecting Leap Lotto.
