Club Notes: 11-05-2023
The last number of weeks have been busy for all teams in the club. On Sunday 30th April our Junior A Footballers took on near neighbours Castlehaven in the league and despite a second half comeback lost out by 1-8 to 0-14 on the day. On Friday 28th April the Junior C Footballers got their season up and running with a comprehensive 5-18 to 0-6 win over Goleen in Goleen and continued their winning start when they dispatched St Colums on a damp night last Thursday 4th May in Leap on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-9.
The u14 Footballers continued their impressive league form when they took on great rivals Tadgh MacCarthaigh in the Quarter Final of the league which was played in Leap on Friday 28th April. Playing excellent attacking football they took early control of the game and ran out good winners by 3-13 to 2-4. They are due to play the semi final v Clann Na Gael in Leap on Friday 12th at 7:30pm but check club social media for updates on this fixture.
The u14 Ladies took on a very strong Beara team on Thursday 27th April in Leap and despite not getting the result they wanted still gained great experience of playing at this level.
Jerome McCarthy was part of the Cork Mid West u15 team that defeated Tipperary in Thurles last Sunday 7th May.
The club monthly draw will resume for 2023 in June. Anyone who is interested in purchasing a ticket for these draws are asked to contact any club committee member for details.
The club/community council lotto is up and running again since the start of the year, so don’t forget to play as the draw takes place every Monday night. Tickets can be bought at the usual local outlets at a price of €2 each or 3 for €5. Also the Lotto can be played online at www.leaplotto.ie and also on the Club force app by selecting Leap Lotto.
