Club Notes: 15-06-2023
The last few have been a little quieter for teams on the pitch. Here is a brief review of the last few weeks:
Junior C Football:
The Junior C Footballers continued their league campaign when they welcomed Caheragh to Leap on Thursday 8th June. With the opposition short numbers on the night, the game was played 13 a side and it turned out to be a fantastic advert for attacking football, with the Kilmacs running out winners by 4-18 to 4-9. This means that the team has now won 4 out of 4 league games and play their final league game away to Clann Na Gael on Saturday 17th June.
U14 Football Championship:
After the disappointment of the league final defeat the U14’s made the trip to Rossmore on Wednesday May 31st to take on Kilmeen in the 1st round of the championship. Putting in a gutsy performance on the night, it was just not to be for the Kilmacs as the hosts ran out winners on the night: final score Kilmacs 4-4 Kilmeen 4-13.
U12 Boys and Girls Football:
The U12 Boys took on and played excellently against Caha Og on Thursday 1st June in Leap. This group is gelling as a team and are starting to find their feet in this age group. The U12 Ladies had two excellent performances at home to Courcey Rovers on Wednesday 30th May and then away against Beara U12 Ladies on Sunday 11th June. Again this group are improving with every game and great credit has to go to all the coaches who are putting in the hard work on the ground week in week out.
Congratulations to Maultrahane National School who won the Roinn 8 Mixed section of the Sciath Na Scoil competition held in Clonakilty on Thursday June 8th. They defeated Ballinagree National School in the final.
The club/community council lotto is up and running again since the start of the year, so don’t forget to play as the draw takes place every Monday night. Tickets can be bought at the usual local outlets at a price of €2 each or 3 for €5. Also the Lotto can be played online at www.leaplotto.ie and also on the Club force app by selecting Leap Lotto.
