Club Notes: 27-07-2023
There was great news for the U12 Ladies Footballers on Friday last, when they found out that they were chosen as one of the six U12 teams to play in Croke Park on Ladies All Ireland Football Finals day on Sunday 13th August. This was the culmination of weeks of hard work by everyone involved and our girls will now be able to grace the hallowed turf of Croke Park on the biggest day in the Ladies Football calendar.
The u13 girls travelled to Ballinspittle on Sunday to take on the home team, Courcey Rovers and came away with a great win.
The Junior A Footballers are back out this weekend as they begin their Junior A Football Championship campaign when they travel to Rosscarbery to take on Argideen Rangers in their opening group game. This game is on Saturday 29th with throw in at 7:30pm. We encourage all our supporters to come out and help the lads to victory.
Kilmacabea GAA Community Festival makes a welcome return in 2023 after a few years hiatus. This year the festival will run from Friday 4th August to Monday 7th August. Some highlights of the weekend at the 5k Fun Run/Walk on Friday, Final of the Fr Crowley Cup, Family Fun Day and BBQ & Music on Saturday, Treasure Hunt from GAA Pitch and Monster RAG Parade on Sunday. On Monday, LeapDyno: Tractor, Truck and Car Run will take place in the GAA Grounds and this is a fundraiser for our AstroTurf project. The club/community council lotto is up and running again since the start of the year, so don’t forget to play as the draw takes place every Monday night. Tickets can be bought at the usual local outlets at a price of €2 each or 3 for €5. Also the Lotto can be played online at www.leaplotto.ie and also on the Club force app by selecting Leap Lotto.
