U12 win back to back West Cork titles: Club Notes 07-10-2021

Pride of place this week goes to our u12 Footballers who defeated Clann Na Gael by 3-13 to 2-3 in the final of Rebel Og West Division 4 Cup Final to capture their second successive u12 Cup Final victory. This was another tremendous season for this group as they played some wonderful attacking football and it goes to show that there is tremendous talent in this group and that there is great work being put in by their coaches and mentors at underage level.

This is this groups third Rebel Og West final appearance in a row, having lost to Kilmichael in 2019, they defeated Argideen Rangers in the final in 2020 and now defeated Clann Na Gael this year. A fantastic achievement in anyone’s book.

The u12 panel that captured the clubs second successive u12 Cup Final win is as follows: Sophie O Donovan (captain), Jack O Donovan, Joe O Donovan, Oisin O Donovan, Dylan Cooke, Adam McCarthy, Conall McCarthy, Aodan Murphy, Milo Kinsella, Nell Kinsella, Tadgh Kinsella, Darragh O Donovan, Emer O Donovan, Paddy Paison, Donie Paison, Aaron Jennings, Owen Jennings, David Bahyronski, Johnny O Driscoll, Stephen McCarthy, Sam Mahon, Mary Hurley and Isabelle Murphy.

Also big thanks has to go to Carmel O Donovan at Ger’s Diner who fed the victorious panel when they arrived back into Leap later on Friday evening.

Also this Sunday at 12 noon in Ahamilla the Junior 2 footballers will take on Clonakilty in the opening round of the Junior C/D Football Championship round robin.
