Club Notes: 21-07-2022
The club will hold its annual flag day fundraiser in Skibbereen on Friday 29 July th. Help will be needed as this is one of the club’s best fundraisers as all funds go into running the underage club for the year. If you are available and would like to volunteer please contact club treasurer Jennifer Sweetnam.
On Saturday evening last our Junior A Footballers opened the 2022 Carbery Junior A Football Championship with their opening group game against Kilbrittain. Starting slowly and trailing by two points early on, it was the Kilmacs who took control of the game for the remainder of the half outscored their opponents by 0-10 to 0-2 to leave the half time score Kilmacabea 0-10 Kilbrittain 0-4. This sequence of scoring continued in the 2nd half with the Kilmacs completely dominating and with the help of two second half goals ran out comfortable winners by 2-14 to 0-5. This was a great start to the campaign and attention now turns to our second game in the group stage next Saturday evening against Ballinascarthy.
Our u15’s welcomed Urhan to Leap last Wednesday night and had to give way to a stronger Beara outfit on the night, Kilmacabea 0-10 Urhan 5-11.
Kililen were also in action last Wednesday night when they took on Owen Gaels in the Quarter Final of the u19 Championship. Again after a poor first half, trailing 0-5 to 2-6 the Kililen lads gave a fantastic account of themselves in the 2nd half and were unfortunate to lose out by 2-9 to 1-10 on the night.

U13 Football League v Kilmeen on Thursday 21st at 7pm in Rossmore
U12 Football League v Aghinagh on Monday 25th at 7pm in Rusheen
The club/community council lotto is up and running again since the start of the year, so don’t forget to play as the draw takes place every Monday night. Tickets can be bought at the usual local outlets at a price of €2 each or 3 for €5. Also the Lotto can be played online at www.leaplotto.ie and also on the Club force app by selecting Leap Lotto.
Our club monthly draw is once again up and running for 2022. Prizes totally €1000 are up for grabs each month and your support would once again be appreciated. If you would like to purchase a ticket for the draw, please contact any club officer for further payment details.
