Club Notes: 26-01-2023

Last Saturday night in the West Cork Hotel in Skibbereen, LeapSync 2023 saw the best of talent in the parish of Kilmacabea duel it out for the crown of LeapSync Champions. 11 totally different acts put on an incredible show, with a mixture of song, dance and comedic talent and a large audience was utterly entertained from start to finish. After a short wait it was the group of Patrick, Eamon and Ray Shanahan, Adrian Gore, Jamie Ronan, Odhran Kerrisk and Dara Tobin who took home the crown with their act “The Dancing Biddies”. The winning prize of €1,000 will be shared by the groups nominated charities the Air Ambulance and Cancer Connect. Many thanks also goes to our MC’s on the night, Michael Whelton and Carmel O Donovan, whose double act really kept the audiences, judges and acts on their toes. Our judges on the night Rachel O Donovan, Rob Heffernan and Jake Carter were excellent, giving their insights and really engaged with each and every performance and everyone involved would like to thank them for giving up their time to be with us on the night. Huge thanks also needs to go to our hardworking commitee, whose determination in turning any idea in reality deserves huge credit. To Tim and Marian Looney and all the staff at the West Cork Hotel for hosting the night, we all thanks you so much. Finally we would like to thank all the sponsors, whom with their help this event could not have take place.

It is now hoped that the money raised on the night with go towards the development of a floodlight Astroturf pitch for the use of everyone in the parish.
