Club Notes 17-08-2023

Sunday 13th August 2023 will long live in the memory for the Kilmacabea U12 Girls footballers, as they played at half time in the All Ireland Senior Ladies Football Final in Croke Park. This was a dream come true for this group, after they, their coaches and their parents put in a huge effort to help them realise their dream of playing at Croke Park on All Ireland finals day. A huge campaign was launched on club social media and this was crucial in securing their place on the day. Many thanks has to go to their mentors, parents and club officials who all helped to make the girls dreams come through. For the record the girls that played in Croke Park on Sunday were as follows: Lucy Forsyth, Siobhan O Donovan, Caoimhe O Brien, Ciara Jennings, Bridget Hurley, MaryJo O Mahony, Aela French, Nell Kinsella, Jemma Collins, Heather O Donovan, Mia Collins, Chloe Connolly

Thanks to all those that took part in our Cul Camp 2023 for the past week. A great, fun week was had by all who participated and great credit needs to go to all the coaches who gave their time. Also thanks to those volunteers who helped to erected a canopy for the week and to those that supplied refreshments. Also thanks to O Donovan Rossa and Cork Senior Ladies footballer Laura O Mahony who attended the camp and also to Fields Supervalu Skibbereen who supplied ice creams on the last day of camp.

The club would like to express our gratitude to everyone who volunteered and gave of their time so freely to help organise and run our Festival and Leap Dyno Day. A huge thank you to our sponsors, stewards, ticket sellers, adjoining landowners, those who were involved with catering, supported and partook in all events and to everyone who came along and made our Festival and Leap Dyno Day such a great success. This would not have been possible without all your help and support.

The Junior Footballers take on Kilmeen in their second game of the championship. This game takes place on Sunday 20th at 7pm in Rosscarbery. We hope to see a large crowd out to support the lads again on Sunday evening.
